Sand blasting

First we had the suspension parts sand blasted. Each and every piece was documented for the file.

After documenting, we applied the first layer of the paint system, the rust preventation (Fertan). It is mandatory, as fresh sand blasted items start to rust immediatly. The increased surface makes them prone to humidity. We catch it with the rust converting material.

Normaly I prefer 2k paints on the parts, but there are some items that I powdercoat. The tank is one of them as in the boot the normal paint can be easily hurt, plus the tank filler neck is also a delicate point. Before powder coating we apply 2 layers of 99% pure zinc paint.

On other parts we use a 2k epoxy primer, a 2k epoxy filler, and a 2k finisher. This time in satin black. On some parts it is necessary to use a bit of filler to fix the rust damage.
